Why I Started Grate Auto Deals
I spent nearly ten years working inside dealerships. I ran high-volume sales floors and managed finance departments for luxury and volume brands like BMW, Volkswagen, Infiniti, Honda, and Toyota.
That background gave me a clear, unvarnished look at how deals are structured, how lenders evaluate risk, and where showrooms build profit into a transaction.
Yet, even with my background and knowledge, whenever I stepped into the consumer shoes, I’ve felt the same frustrations everyone else feels: the endless waiting, the exhausting sales tactics, inventory shortages, and the anxiety of being bound by a complex contract.
I’ve watched good people lose hours of their weekends, get bogged down by traditional dealership practices, while struggling with a lack of transparency. All of this occurred simply because dealerships are built to maximize their margins, without consideration of the customer’s experience.
That is why I want to change the narrative.
